VISITOR QUOTES IN OUR GUEST BOOKS
"Our 4th year here in a row. We love it and can't thank Mrs Spillane enough
for all her help. No telephone, no radio, don't turn the t.v. on! Bliss!
Rained at some point every day. Some hail storms, high winds. All made the
cottage seem more cosy. Peat fire simmers gently. Bowlers bar in
Castlegregory is a warm, welcoming place. As is Keanes Foodstore -
everything you want, including the best beef we have ever eaten....The
cottages are so well equipped.....G & R R Northumberland.
"Kerry Cottages to us are dream cottages and you wouldn't find better in the south of France. There is not a lot we can say that hasn't been said
by others, except 10/10 to Ray & Christine Marshall & Mrs Spillane for the
way "Kerry Cottages" are. F & S Dun Laoghaire.
Had a lovely time on our second visit to Kerry cottages. Tralee is much pleasant, ...If you're looking for a nice dessert the granny tart from
Ted's cake shop (on the square in Tralee) is terrific....The tips for lighting the fire are in the other book...about 10 pages from the back..and
they really help! The cottage was well equipped, though this American would have greatly appreciated a coffee maker in the morning! Enjoy your stay! D
& P W Chicago. (Automatic coffee makers now in all cottages. Ray M.)
If you are reading this, then we are happy for you. You are living in the best cottage in Ireland. With sadness we had to leave 4 of July. I had to
admit that I was wondering about the rate. Its worth every penny!! We have only one thing to say. WE WILL BE
BACK!!! Sorry to say there is no moreSwedish people in this book. They don't know what they are missing. Fam
Gibbemark. Sweden.
Our second year running at Illaunboe (Kerry Cottage). More excellent seafood at Ashes,
Spillanes, The Half Door, Doyles. Helpful babysitting...We got the impression that Dingle Peninsula was a little
busier this year, make the most of the place whilst you can - it may yet be spoilt. At present it can provide the ultimate peaceful relaxing holiday. D
C England.
In Tralee don't miss the Geraldine Tralee exhibition especially the mediaeval village, Superb. We enjoyed the pasta and fish in the Singing
Salmon restaurant in Dingle...the excellent lunches at the Waterside Winebar, Dingle (closes 6pm) Many enjoyable meals here in the cottage
thanks to the excellent kitchen & Helen's cooking.
Lighting the peat fire was an experience..we were still having problems after lesson 97 ...all I can say is that when the fire is going it is
lovely and gives off a terrific heat ...an unforgettable holiday ...M & D H York
Love the cottage, the best holiday home we have had in over forty years. Wish we could transport it home to Berkshire...The Dingle Peninsula is just
lovely, mountains and sea...Promised our grandchildren to capture a leprechaun. M &
C.M.
It has been the most relaxing and most enjoyable holiday we have ever had. We brought our youngest Ciara aged 12, Lissara aged 10 and their friend
Jane aged 10 and my niece Sharna aged 10. It was supposed to be just a short holiday for them before we went off on our own holiday, but it has
turned out to be the break we all needed. The cottage is perfect...everything in the cottage is spotless and in working order,
something we have never found anywhere else. E & P McA Newry.
My husband who is a keen fisherman went off to do some fishing to a lough in the mountains, my son also went on a ramble in the mountains...we had
lovely trouts for breakfast the following morning. K & J J N Wales
The cottage is really first class, very well furnished and very clean. Our fourth / fifth visit to Kerry Cottages - the relaxing air has made me
unable to count!! Gets better each year. What a marvellous break from life in the city! The cottage and its setting
exceeded our expectations.
The Kerry Cottages topped everything we had ever dreamed of for our first vacation in Ireland....lots of sun, surely one of the prime beaches in
Europe, superbly finished cottages, plenty of good salmon and lobster and beautiful scenery. J Family Frankfurt.
We spent a very good time in this beautiful cottage and we hope we will return soon. U. Berlin.
We appreciated everything here; first of all the nice cottage and its equipment (excellent idea the information booklet, the maps etc.) then the
scenery - each window view is like a picture on the wall! - the beaches, the rainbows & of course those delicious basses and
trouts. A & D France
Our first time in Kerry and we fell in love with 'Innistooskert' (the cottage) and its magnificent surroundings.
Definitely one of the most beautiful places I have yet experienced. So much within a walk or a bike ride....The trail up
Caherconree, the forest,the
beach. And the lovely people. P S Atlanta Georgia
We have broken some records, I'm sure. 14 days of beautiful sunshine.Though we hated to be away from the gorgeous views around the cottage,
we have toured the whole peninsula & made side trips to Killarney &
Tralee. We have loved every minute and have been so comfortable in this nice cottage. S S Atlanta, Georgia.
The cottage kitchen is the best equipped I have ever seen; cottage as a whole is very comfortable. C. Kent.
Maybe it was beautiful scenery. Maybe it was the miles and miles of sandy beaches. Maybe it was because the weather was kind. Or yet again maybe it
was the peat fire and comfy home to come back to at night! Maybe we will find out when we
come next year. W. Co Down.
Arrived at the cottage approx. 5.30 p.m., it was so homely to find some tea, sugar, milk, bread & butter (beautiful home made bread) what a lovelyIrish
"Cead mile failte", go raibh maith agat. We made our 'cuppa', enjoyed it and then just marvelled at the simplicity, economy, cleanliness of the
cottage with everything supplied. What thinking must have gone into this great plan! The peace and quiet, no telephone or doorbell, letters.
Buiochas le dia, what a change from the busy world we had left behind for this holiday. Mrs Spillane was very kind and helpful, the people of
Castlegregory so friendly, - so warm hearted - the lovely meals at "Spillanes" - the Castlegregory carnival week was in 'full bloom'. We
really enjoyed watching the 'feats' etc. Never have we enjoyed such a holiday - the people we
met at evening mass so friendly and welcoming. We will be back. Our daughter who spent her honeymoon in one of these cottages
recommended it to us and we now have experienced the same wonderful atmosphere - weather just glorious. Many many thanks to all concerned.
McS Dublin.
What a lovely cottage - the small things are looked after so the big things all come right.... T. Co Kilkenny
More sun and higher temperatures than we had been told to expect! (July) The cottage itself was a great success and - for once - fully lived up of
the promise of the catalogue! A & H H.
